San Antonio will soon add more downtown, luxury homes when The Arts Residences and The Thompson Hotel are completed. The next step toward that, the groundbreaking on the mixed-used development, is set for Jan. 30, with an aim toward a 2019 completion date, according to a news release. DC Partners, the developers behind the $116 million condos and hotel, are hosting a groundbreaking ceremony at the 123 Lexington Ave. construction site that morning. The luxury condominiums have been for sale since May 2017. Forty percent of the residences, which will be situated atop the hotel, have already been sold. Thompson Hotels, a chain described as an “international collection of design-forward, luxury lifestyle hotels and resorts,” will add their first San Antonio location. Thompson hotels already exist in cities like New York City, Chicago, Nashville, Seattle, Toronto, Playa del Carmen and Cabo San Lucas.

“The Thompson San Antonio hotel and The Arts Residences will truly be a landmark project –redefining luxury downtown living by offering residents exceptional customer service and unparalleled amenities from 24-hour concierge and room service, a spa, first-class restaurant, a pool deck and more,” DC Partners CEO Roberto Contreras said in the release. “The premier location and proximity to the Tobin Center and the performing arts district places residents in the epicenter of San Antonio’s thriving downtown.”
